Veterinary Technician Island Animal Hospital on Cocoa Beach 333 Minutemen Causeway, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931 Full Time and Part Time Position Open for Experienced Veterinary Technician Island Animal Hospital is looking for a Certified or experienced Veterinary Technician to add to our growing team. Our focus is high quality patient and client based care. We take pride in our bond with our clients and patients in this community. We offer advanced dentistry, radiology, endoscopy, echocardiograms, rehabilitation services and preventative medicine. We are able to perform in house diagnostics including radiographs, hematology, chemistries, and ultrasound machines. EDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) desirable but not required. Previous On-The-Job Training required when not a

CVT. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum two year experience working in a veterinary setting.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 18 years old. Excellent communication skills as well as confidence in public speaking. Is experienced in teamwork Can provide compassionate care to patients and clients alike. Practiced inpatient and outpatient care-giving Can prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas with hospital policy and OSHA compliance. Can lift 40lb and be able to demonstrate proper lifting techniques Understands all common vaccinations, diseases, and parasitology for this region. Maintains positive and cooperative in difficult or stressful situations. Understands medical terminology Assist clients with products, promotions, orders, and finances. Understands usage, dosage, and common side-effects for commonly used prescription drugs Practice in sterilization techniques and surgical preparation. Adept in anesthesia and oxygen machine care/maintenance. Adept in evaluating vitals. Can perform emergency procedures such as control of wounds, bleeding, resuscitation, opening airways, and external cardiac massage. Can perform clinical laboratory procedures; fecal flotation/directs, hematology testing, chemistry testing, skin scrapings, urinalysis, fungal cultures, ear/skin cytology. Phlebotomy; can draw blood for laboratory analysis as well as place intravenous catheters. Patient positioning understanding for; restraint, examination, radio-graphs, and surgery.

Waiting period may apply Hours per week: 25-30 for Part Time and 34-39
