Veterinary Technician Palm Bay Animal Clinic 3970 Dixie Highway NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905 Palm Bay Animal Clinic is looking for a CVT or experienced Veterinary Technician to add to our growing team. We pride ourselves in high quality patient care and educating our clients to be able to strengthen the human animal bond. We offer dentistry, radiology, routine and some advanced surgical procedures, abdominal ultrasound, echocardiograms, and preventative medicine. We perform standard in house diagnostics including radiographs, hematology, chemistries, urinalysis, cytology and ultrasound. EDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) preferred, but not required. Previous On-The-Job Training preferred if not a
CVT. PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 18 years old. Ability lift up to 40lbs. Excellent communication skills as well as confidence in public speaking. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient. Can provide compassionate care to patients and their pet parents while assisting veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Collect samples and perform clinical laboratory procedures such as hematology tests, biochemistry test, urinalysis, fecal float, and ear cytology. Can prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas with hospital policy. Understands all common vaccinations, diseases, and parasitology. Maintains positive and cooperative in difficult or stressful situations. Assist clients with education on products and the promotions that are offered. Understands basics in commonly used prescription drugs and their side effects. Knowledge in sterilization techniques and surgical preparation as well as the workings of anesthetic/oxygen machines (preferred). Proficient in evaluating vitals. Proficiency in phlebotomy and placement of intravenous catheters. Taking and understanding positioning for digital radiographs. Ability to handle animals with care and compassion.
