Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our animal patients. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced veterinary clinic and contribute to the well-being of animals.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
- Clean and sanitize animal enclosures, exam rooms, and equipment
- Monitor the health and well-being of hospitalized animals
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician or similar role is preferred
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures and techniques
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and practices
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Experience in handling dogs, cats, and other small animals
- Knowledge of equine care is a plus
- Understanding of veterinary critical care principles
- Excellent animal husbandry skills
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology preferred
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
