Veterinary Technician Starkey Ranch Animal Hospital & Rehabilitation Center 2046 Gunn Highway, Odessa, FL 33556 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and be skilled in providing high-quality veterinary services. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures while ensuring the comfort and well-being of our animal patients. Duties Assist veterinarians in performing examinations, surgeries, and treatments for various animals. Conduct routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, to aid in diagnosing health issues. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal patients’ vital signs and overall health during procedures and recovery. Prepare animals for surgery by ensuring proper sedation and anesthesia protocols are followed. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and post-operative instructions. Handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively to minimize stress during visits. Assist with dental cleanings and procedures while utilizing appropriate dental terminology. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment, including kennels and treatment areas.

Experience Candidates should have:

Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of animal physiology, behavior, and handling techniques. Familiarity with veterinary equipment such as X-ray machines and anesthesia monitors is advantageous. Skills in animal catheterization.
