Veterinary Technician Ocala Veterinary Hospital 316 SE 12th Street, Ocala, FL 34471 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality veterinary services. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures while ensuring the comfort and well-being of our animal patients. Duties Assist veterinarians in performing examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures. Provide critical care to animals in need, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications. Perform diagnostic tests such as X-rays and laboratory work to aid in the diagnosis of animal health issues. Handle animal catheterization and maintain proper hygiene standards during procedures. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient and ensure all documentation is up-to-date. Provide grooming services as needed to ensure the cleanliness and comfort of animals. Demonstrate knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to assist in treatment plans effectively. Collaborate with team members to create a positive environment for both pets and their owners. Requirements Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred. Experience in veterinary critical care is highly desirable. Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common medical conditions. Proficiency in handling various animals with care and compassion. Ability to perform tasks such as X-ray imaging and animal catheterization. Strong communication skills to effectively educate pet owners on care practices. Previous experience in dog training or pet grooming is a plus. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
