Experienced Veterinary Technician

Miami, FL 33186 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians in various clinical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of animal physiology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, cytologies, CPR logic exams and urinalysis. Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian. Utilize animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety, comfort and tranquility of both animals and staff. Prepare animals for surgery, including anesthesia induction and monitoring. Conduct X-ray imaging and interpret results under veterinary supervision. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and training techniques. Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures as needed. Provide certain grooming services to enhance the comfort and health of pets. Skills Proficiency in laboratory techniques relevant to veterinary medicine. Strong skills in animal restraint and handling to ensure safe interactions with pets. Knowledge of dog training methods to assist pet owners effectively. Experience with X-ray equipment and procedures for diagnostic imaging. Familiarity with animal physiology to understand health conditions better. Understanding of dental terminology related to veterinary dentistry. Skills in animal catheterization for various medical procedures. Bilingual, fluid English is a must have for this position, some Spanish required as well.
