Our work focuses on adoption services, education about responsible pet ownership, and working to reduce animal overpopulation and homeless pets. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Technician. This role involves a combination of medical, administrative, and animal care duties to ensure the health and well-being of shelter animals. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for providing humane care to animals in need. This is a full time role over five days per week. The position will work closely with Animal Care Technicians – Canine, Cat Volunteers, and will report directly to the Animal Care Manager. Position Responsibilities

  • Follow cleaning protocols when disinfecting and sanitizing cages.
  • Provide food, water, cleaning and enrichment to cats within our care.
  • Showing and matching adoptable animals to potential adopters.
  • Monitor and report the daily health of animals to medical staff, to include but not limited to, behavior, appetite, water consumption and litter box habits.
  • Assist medical staff when needed to hold a cat for intake examinations and vaccinations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Animal Care Manager or Adoption Center & Shelter Director Core Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to work under pressure within a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Follow instructions and be a team player.
  • Ability to stand and bend for extended periods, lift to 50 lbs.
