Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provide friendly, quality care to our clients. Provide and maintain a high standard of patient care, including but not limited to: Discharging patients from the clinic Fill prescriptions Draw blood Obtain vitals on patients Assist in inducing and maintaining patients under sedation or anesthesia. Maintain a high standard of patient care IV catheter placement and maintenance. Drug administration Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including preparation and monitoring of the patient. Also, assist with performing dental radiographs and dental charting. Knowledge of drugs and their dosages/uses Recognizing and reporting pain, distress, or any other patient concerns. Assist in emergency services (CPR, unaided catheterization/intubation, drug administration) Skills and Knowledge Effective communication with clients and staff members Ability to safely lift objects or pets of at least 50lbs (you may ask for assistance) Ability to work with or without direct supervision Restrain and control cats and dogs of any temperament Recognize concerning behaviors in pets Make conversions and calculations Adapt to different needs and preferences of different doctors.
