In this role, you will support our veterinarians in delivering top-notch care to our animal patients, ensuring their health and well-being. Must have prior experience as a Veterinary Technician, a team player attitude, excellent communication and client service skills. Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Monitor and record vital signs, prepare surgical instruments, and maintain sterile conditions. Collect samples for laboratory testing and perform basic lab work. Monitor anesthesia and assist during surgical procedures and dentals, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Educate pet owners on post-operative care, preventive health measures, and nutrition. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and laboratory results. Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and work areas. Provide emergency first aid to sick or injured animals as necessary. Manage and inventory medical supplies and pharmaceuticals. Train and mentor veterinary assistants and other support staff. Provide general care to hospitalized patients, including feeding, bathing, and exercising. Assist the kennel with walking, feeding and cleaning. Qualifications Certification as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, CVT, or LVT) preferred, but not required for Veterinary Assistants. Experience in a veterinary setting is required. Strong knowledge of animal care and handling. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with grace. Compassionate, reliable, punctual and detail-oriented. Experience with veterinary software (Evet/Covetrus Plus) is a plus. Ability to lift and restrain animals as necessary.
