Job Purpose Responsible for leading a team of overnight veterinary technicians to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care and excellent customer service. The shift lead will manage the daily operations of the veterinary technician team, including assisting with scheduling, staffing, training, and performance management. They will also work collaboratively with other departments to achieve the overall goals of the veterinary hospital. Assumes responsibilities in the Department Supervisor’s absence to allow for continuity of coverage, providing leadership within the hospital to delegate cases and tasks, as well as ensure technical procedures are performed according to process in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities Patient Care and Customer Service:

Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and excellent customer service through effective communication, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. Supervise and actively participate in the daily clinical activities, from patient intake to treatment and discharge.

Operations and Efficiency:

Develop and implement standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies. Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the veterinary hospital during overnight shifts. Manage inventory and supplies, guaranteeing the availability of essential medications, equipment, and supplies for optimal patient care.

Training and Development:

Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for both new and existing veterinary technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Quality Improvement:

Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of overall hospital operations. Motivate and inspire team to provide high quality care to the patients and clients of ACCESS, while working to ensure that actions support the hospital, doctors, and the hospital principles of Quality, Integrity, Compassion, and Service Responsible for upholding the spirit of ACCESS by handling all necessary tasks that require attention Qualifications Ideally possess one of the following

RVT/LVT/CVT

3+ years of technical leadership experience in a large hospital setting, specialty preferred You should exemplify our guiding principles of Quality, Integrity, Compassion, and Service. We are performing extremely cutting-edge and complex procedures in a state of the art facility.
