The SPCA is a for-all, open admission animal shelter. In this role, you’ll provide compassionate medical care, oversee treatments and surgeries, and ensure the health and well-being of shelter animals in our care. Key Responsibilities Assist the Shelter Veterinarian with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures. Perform routine tasks such as vaccinations, microchipping, wound care, and lab diagnostics. Administer and monitor anesthesia, assist with dental cleanings, and oversee surgical recovery. Maintain accurate records in PetPoint and ensure compliance with DEA and safety standards. Communicate with adopters and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized medical environment. Assist with and preform the humane euthanasia process. Qualifications Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology OR at least 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician. Certified Euthanasia Technician in the state of Florida or obtain certification within 6 months of employment. Skilled in animal handling with a passion for animal welfare. Team-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced shelter environment.
