We are a leading family-owned veterinary hospital committed to providing exceptional care and treatment to pets in our community. As a Veterinary Technician in our Oncology department, you will work alongside experienced veterinarians and compassionate veterinary professionals to provide top-notch care for pets diagnosed with cancer. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care, including handling, restraint, and medication administration Collect and record patient history and vital signs Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for procedures Monitor and document patient progress during and after treatment Perform routine diagnostic procedures, such as blood work, cytology, and radiology Administer treatments, including chemotherapy, under the guidance of veterinarians Assist with specialized procedures like ultrasound, biopsy, and CT scans Monitor patients during anesthesia and post-anesthesia recovery Provide support and education to pet owners facing a cancer diagnosis Maintain accurate and detailed medical records Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Proficiency in blood drawing and catheter insertion Minimum of 3-4 years of experience as a veterinary technician Certification as a Veterinary Technician preferred Previous experience working in an oncology setting highly desirable Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures and techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks Benefits Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) Paid Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity) Safe Harbor 401K with Company Match Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D) Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Personal) Holiday Pay Short Term & Long Term Disability Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Team Member Pet Wellness Plan Team Member Pet Discount Continuing Education Uniform Allowance Tuition Reimbursement
