Schedule:
Overnights 7pm – 7am. Flexibility but must bewilling to work 2 weekends per month (i.e. Fri-Sun)
Pay:
$20.00 -$38.50 / hour + competitive shift differentials•This pay band isdependent on experience and advancement through our competencyassessment tool.•We also offer competitive shift differential payfor eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shiftdifferentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.
For example:
Mon Fri:
6pm to 8am = +$3.00/hr.
Shift DifferentialSat & Sun:
8am to 6pm =+$3.00/hr.
Shift DifferentialSat & Sun:
6pm to 8am = +$4.50/hr.
Shift DifferentialAs an Emergency Veterinary Technician, youwill:
Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and useanesthesia/monitoring equipment.
Triage emergency cases as theyarrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such astemperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
Performdigital radiography using proper technique including properpositioning of patients.
Have a complete understanding of normalranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heartand respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygensaturation.
Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vitalsigns and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
Identifypatients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.Properly calculatemedical math (including constant rate infusions) and administermedications via appropriate routes and duration.
Are proficient atperforming phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in allperipheral vessels.
Place and maintain feeding tubes and centralline catheters.
Have a passion for mentoring and training otherco-workers.
Have patience and empathy to address clientconcerns.
Qualifications:
1+ year experience in placing IVcatheters.1+ year inducing, monitoring, + recovering anesthesia.1+year triaging emergency cases.1+ year CPR experience1+ experienceobtaining/interpreting blood pressure + vitalsWhy BluePearl?

Our Continuing Education Plan includes$500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. TheContinuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVTand VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionalsare eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVTassociates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year.
Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year.
Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount ofany CE benefit for which they are eligible.
