Veterinary Technician Position Available In St. Tammany, Louisiana

Veterinary Technician Mandeville Animal Hospital 419 Girod Street, Mandeville, LA 70448 Mandeville Animal Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) that has 1+ years of clinical experience in a veterinary practice. Current RVT licensure strongly preferred. Non-licensed well-experienced assistants encouraged to apply. Must be able to work well in a busy, but small hospital setting that goes above and beyond for patient and client care. Duties include the following but not be limited to: IV catheters, phlebotomy, doppler blood pressure measurement, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, dental cleanings, surgery preparation, anesthesia administration and monitoring, assisting doctor in surgery and examination rooms, some cleaning, general kennel duties if needed, receptionist duties when needed, administering medications, inventory, stocking of supplies, filling prescriptions, occasional local house calls with doctor. Previous experience and knowledge of Idexx lab equipment and testing and DaySmart-Vetter software a plus. Must be proficient with digital radiography and digital dental radiography. Candidate must be able to remain calm and show compassion under pressure, be honest, reliable, punctual, effectively communicate and get along with other staff and doctor, and have excellent client relations. Receptionist experience a plus to help answer busy phones on occasion. Schedule is part-time or full- time Monday through Friday with occasional optional weekend hospital treatment duties. Pay based on licensure, experience and competency.
