Who We Are We are a large and growing emergency and specialty hospital located in beautiful Portland, Maine. Our facility is home to board-certified experts in Surgery, Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Cardiology, and Dermatology. At PVESC, you’ll work with a multidisciplinary team that’s passionate about continuous learning and high standards of care. There’s no ceiling for your growth-only opportunity. What You’ll Do As a valued member of our Internal Medicine team, you’ll work alongside specialists, providing advanced diagnostic and procedural support, and contributing directly to the patient and client experience. There will also be cross training between the Cardiology department. In this role, you will: Provide technical support for internal medicine diagnostics and procedures
Assist with imaging such as ultrasound and endoscopy
Communicate clearly and empathetically with clients throughout their pet’s care
Collaborate with specialists and technicians across departments to deliver seamless care
Help manage patient flow, appointment coordination, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate medical records, assist with referral reports, and ensure up-to-date documentation
Anticipated Schedule This is a full-time position.

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday:

8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Some holidays are required

Requirements
Licensed or credentialed veterinary technician, VTS, preferred or experienced veterinary assistant
Interest or experience in specialty/internal medicine
Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic understanding of ultrasonography and endoscopy procedures is a plus
Tech-savvy and comfortable using medical software and systems
