Company Description Animal Medical Clinic of Vicksburg is amixed animal practice assisting with your small and large animalneeds. Our new hospital was completed in July of 2006. It featuresa larger waiting room, 5 exam rooms, an expanded treatment area,state-of-the-art Surgical Suite and ICU. We also have more spaciousrooms for boarding including an exercise yard and indoor largeanimal treatment area with stalls. JobDescription Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Thekennel tech is responsible for the care, feeding, medicating, andcleaning of our patients in the hospital and boarding facility.
This job involves cleaning, laundry, bathing, feeding, walkingdogs, and medicating patients. You are responsible for restockinghospital supplies, helping with post-operative patients, assistingdoctors and assistants with animal restraint and exams. You will beresponsible for proper recordkeeping of medications, special foods,appetite, behavior and any issue that may arise while the animal isin our care. You may be trained to clean and sterilize surgicalinstruments.
- Qualifications We are looking for someone with:
Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods. Proper methods ofanimal restraint. Ability to use cleaning materials and equipmentwith skill and efficiency.
- Perform moderately heavy physicallabor (large dogs, bags of litter, pet foods, etc). Ability
- tosympathetically and patiently attend to sick, scared and injuredanimals.
- Ability to learn to administer medications and torecognize abnormal conditions. Understand and carry out oral andwritten directions. Maintain cooperative relationships with thosecontacted in the course of the job.
