Months Job Description:

• Performs animal husbandry duties tomaintain quality and health of research animals to include dailyfeed/water/enrichment, and cage or room cleaning as required.
• Cleans assigned animal rooms, isolator environments, animal careequipment, and associated animal facility areas daily.
• Maintainsaccurate records of animal health.
• Assists with handling andmanipulations as per SOP’s and protocols.
• Operates equipment anduses supplies according to safety guidelines, performs generalhousekeeping, and adheres to safety procedures.
• Maintainsrequired attendance level and adheres to work schedule inaccordance with required staffing levels to ensure that assignedduties are completed. Weekend and holiday coverage is required on arotation basis.
• Maintains focus on animal welfare reporting allconcerns to management and/or others as required.
• Must ensureanimal welfare guidelines are met, building, and equipment aremaintained accordingly for internal IACUC inspections andmaintenance of AAALAC accreditation.
• Conducts all euthanasia astrained according to AVMA guidelines and completing alldocumentation.
• Multiple showers a day may be required forbiocontainment, showering does include washing of hair.
• Workrequires use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE),including Tyveks, hairnets, respirator or PAPR, gloves, safetyglasses, provided uniforms, and shoes.
• An Enhanced backgroundcheck will be conducted by as part of the onboarding process.
• AFIT test will need to be conducted before being allowed intoVivarium areas.
