Equine Veterinary Technician Running ‘S’ Equine Veterinary Services 118 Fairmount Road West, Califon, NJ 07830 Overview Running ‘S’ Equine Veterinary Services is an ambulatory and hospital practice seeking a full-time veterinary technician. The practice offers state-of-the-art equipment for all our procedures. Our facility is in the heart of horse country and one of the most beautiful areas of the state. We work on your retired, pasture friend through your high-performance horse. Our practice includes a full surgical suite, an eight-stall hospital, an in-clinic procedure room, and fully equipped ambulatory vet vehicles. This practice offers a unique opportunity for our technicians to work across all departments at the facility, including hospital, ambulatory, surgery, and in-clinic appointments. You will assist in all types of procedures, diagnostics, and surgeries, where no day will be the same. An ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the profession. This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling, but the candidate is required to work one night shift and one weekend shift. Pay is based on experience. Responsibilities Jogging and lunging horses for the Veterinarian to evaluate Restraining horses for procedures Drawing blood and preparing tissue samples Perform laboratory tests Sterile technique prep for injections Setting up Radiograph, Ultrasound Imaging, and other diagnostics (ability to carry up to 40 lbs.) Cleaning and maintaining hospital equipment Monitoring hospitalized patients Maintaining accuracy on medical records and hospital billing Performing intensive care procedures for critical patients Assisting in surgeries Experience Previous experience in a veterinary setting or as a technician is preferred but not required. 2 + years of equine handling in a professional setting is required Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate records. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to interact with veterinarians, clients, office staff, and fellow technicians Schedule 8-hour shifts (possible overtime if desired) (1) weekly night shift (hours vary depending on hospital needs) (1) weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday, 7-4 or night shift)
