Veterinary Technician Caring Heart Family Veterinary Services Skillman, NJ 08558 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care for animals while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care, veterinary terminology, and laboratory techniques, ensuring the well-being of our patients and supporting our mission to deliver exceptional veterinary services. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal health and behavior, providing necessary care and support. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatments administered. Prepare animals for surgery by ensuring proper aseptic technique is followed. Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, nutrition, and preventive care. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including sterilization of instruments. Requirements Proven experience in a veterinary setting or completion of a Veterinary Technician program. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and dental terminology. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques. Excellent animal handling skills with experience in dog handling preferred. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners and team members effectively.
