Salary Range:

$22.00 To $26.00 Hourly Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our team! At Quakertown Veterinary Clinic, our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care for our patients and an exceptional level of service for the owners who love them. We are open 24/7 and provide both emergency care and routine treatment for all types of pets, including cats, dogs, horses, farm animals, and exotic pets. Our Veterinary Technicians play an essential role in our success by supporting doctors in the hospital, caring for patients, and interacting closely with clients in regards to patient care. Our ideal candidate must have previous experience as a Veterinary Technician and a desire to work in emergency medicine. In order to best serve our clients and their pets, rotating on-call shifts and select holidays are required. This is a full-time position, 2nd shift (Weekends only)

Responsibilities:

Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing) Opportunities for growth and learning with large animal service.
Triage – identify emergencies and illnesses
Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis including but not limited to placing feeding tubes, intravenous catheter placement and more
Knowledge of medical terminology, medication and disease processes
Administer oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous medications
Position and capture digital radiographs
Computer skills
Effective verbal and written communication with both clients and team members

Anesthesia:

induction, monitoring, troubleshooting and recovery
Attention to detail and calm demeanor
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Low stress handling of patients
Advocate for patients

Qualifications:

Previous veterinary practice experience required
CVT or equivalent preferred
Ability to stay calm and efficient during times of high tension
Ability to work well as part of a team
Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task
