Veterinary Technician Midtown Veterinary Services & Hospital 505 South Jefferson Street, Winchester, TN 37398 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare and possess the necessary skills to ensure the health and comfort of our patients. Responsibilities Provide excellent animal care by monitoring vital signs and overall health of pets. Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Perform animal restraint techniques safely and effectively. Conduct laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry practices and post-operative care. Assist with pet grooming as needed to ensure cleanliness and comfort. Stay updated on veterinary terminology, dental terminology, and animal anatomy knowledge. Requirements Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred. Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and husbandry practices. Familiarity with equine care is a plus but not mandatory. Ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and team members. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
