The Account Executive for MICE & Charters is the direct, day-to-day contact for MICE Group and Charter programs. This individual is responsible for building the entire incentive program from start to finish, seeking out and securing new group and charter business, as well as maintaining current customer relationships. This role works hand in hand with the MICE & Charter Sales Director and Sales Manager to plan and deliver flawless execution of incentive/charter programs. Your Impact
Acts as a point of contact for incentive houses, corporate directs, and brokers in the US.
Resolves problems and provides timely and professional follow-up
Serves as liaison between the client, internal teams, and department heads onboard to ensure flawless execution of charters while providing exceptional customer service to help create more repeat business for the company
Plans and coordinates customized events, special onboard programming and entertainment, unique food & beverage requests, production requirements, excursions, custom itineraries, and other items that may be consistent with the parameters of the client’s charter agreement.
Escorts day visits, site sailings with clients, and corporate programs, acting as the main contact onboard to ensure delivery of a flawless program execution, which results in repeat business for the company.
Manages the execution of the entire onboard charter or group program.
Helps facilitate special requests by working with the appropriate department heads.
Assists Onboard Event Managers with any issues that may arise and ensures our team members onboard have the correct information regarding function space for all events.
Tracks payments and invoices for Group and Charter Programs
Provides supplemental coordination of marketing efforts on behalf of the department.
Represents the company at trade shows and industry events as necessary
Helps build MICE database and create HTML campaigns, exclusive promotions, and social media
Distributes marketing materials and digital assets to Incentive Houses when made available and upon request
Your Journey so far
Fluent in English. Any additional language is considered an advantage
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education preferred
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sales and service support role with a cruise line.
Position will be remote, but candidate must reside in Florida (Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale areas) to commute and attend any needed ship visits, as needed.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required; Proficient computer, technical, and troubleshooting skills. PowerPoint Presentation and Excel experience are required
Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
Must possess analytical/problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, balancing multiple priorities, and able to work well under pressure with others
High level of attention to detail required
Have a positive can-do attitude and ability to thrive in a dynamically changing environment
Have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and team collaboration skills
Overnight travel is required to attend sales meetings, seminars at sea, escorting Group & Charter programs onboard ships, and other trade events
Reliable transportation and local driving may be required
Availability to work both nights and weekends as required
Business acumen – maintain knowledge of market and competitive trends.
