JOB SUMMARY

The Business Account Executive is responsiblefor selling primary and ancillary communications solutions to smalland medium sized businesses within a specified territory. Primaryservices include coax delivered Internet, video and voice.

Ancillary services include custom hosting, desktop security, databack-up, data storage, toll free, additional email addresses,static IPs and more. The AE achieves sales and revenue goalsthrough successful prospecting for new customers as well as thesuccessful sale of bundled services to new customers. The AE isresponsible for generating all sales leads through a variety ofprospecting tactics and working every lead from initial contact tosale. The AE is responsible for the development and implementationof a Territory Plan (under the instruction of the Sales Manager)which is designed to expand the customer base within their assignedterritory. The AE is 100% focused on generating new Internet, voiceand video customers.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify andenhance the customer experiencePlace orders through ordermanagement software. Work with Account Coordinator in the event theorder cannot be automated to ensure that all necessaryadministrative work necessary to support sales activities includingsales orders, contracts, billing forms and sales reports areaccurate and submitted in a timely manner. Hand off customerservice and non-sales related client inquiries to the CustomerService department; focus on sellingHave a complete understandingof Spectrum Business coax services, rates (individual and bundled)and applicable taxesDemonstrate selling skills and productknowledge. Practice selling skills with other Account Executivesregularly. Read sales books and take sales courses to learn newsales techniques; practice and implement new sales techniquesregularlyMaintain accurate records of all sales and prospectingactivities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, andfollow-up activities within assigned territory, including the useof Salesforce.com to maintain accurate records to maximizeterritory potentialMeet and exceed performance standards as definedby the department Standards of Performance (SOP) and the SpectrumWay Sales Model Attend and participate in sales meetings as established bymanagement

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and KnowledgeAbility to read, write, speak andunderstand EnglishKnowledge of communications technologies andservices, with an emphasis on telephone and InternetfundamentalsValid driver’s license with a satisfactory drivingrecord Education Bachelors degree in business, marketing or related field, orequivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Related Work Experience Outside sales experience in a high transaction, short closing cyclemodel preferred; 3-5 yearsBusiness to business sales experiencepreferredProven sales history of meeting or exceeding targetspreferred
