Position Overview:

We’re seeking an experienced Strategic Advisor to join our team and serve as the primary point of contact between Blue Dawg and our clients. In this role, you will ensure strong client relationships, provide high-level strategic support, monitor performance metrics, and guide the work of assigned Account Executives. This is a client-facing position, with flexibility to be based remotely or at our Birmingham, AL office.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the entire Blue Dawg relationship with assigned clients, ensuring excellent service and optimal Account Executive (AE) performance. Maintain a working knowledge of invoicing software and schedules; monitor customer appeals and ensure timelines are met. Monitor appeal schedules and proactively write copy, staying at least three months ahead of production deadlines. Ensure rapid response times for all client inquiries and needs. Visit clients at conferences, via Teams, or when in the area visiting other clients. Attend agreed-upon trade shows and industry conferences to represent the company and strengthen client relationships. Pursue and follow up on prospect leads to support business development efforts. Assist in extreme cases of past-due invoice collections when necessary. Track and report on key performance metrics such as client retention, appeal success rates, and risk/opportunity indicators. Stay informed about changes in industry trends, appeal policies, and Blue Dawg service offerings to provide up-to-date strategic counsel. Maintain detailed client documentation and ensure all communications, strategy shifts, and key decisions are logged and communicated to the appropriate Account Executive. Support the rollout and implementation of new digital tools, online payment systems, and future product/service offerings.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations , preferably in the fields of: Missions-based nonprofits, Animal welfare organizations, and Food bank/hunger relief organizations Experience with fundraising strategy or campaign execution is strongly preferred Proven track record in client relationship management , strategic planning, and performance monitoring Exceptional communication and organizational skills Strong comfort with digital tools, CRM systems, and scheduling/invoicing platforms Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond quickly to client needs Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences or client visits
