Description and Purpose:
The Patient Account Representative is responsible for claims and billing functions and related business office activities. Patient Account Representative primary duties include assisting in managing patient accounts and balances, preparing and sending client billing statements, managing and resolving claim issues, communicating with insurance carriers and patients regarding claim and billing issues, and other billing duties as assigned. Patient Account Representative will also provide coverage support to Front Desk Receptionist and support Admission functions as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in related field is preferred, but not required Must have prior experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Systems Insurance knowledge highly preferred; prior experience in claims/billing a plus Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) Strong customer services and time management skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Patient Account Representative Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Billing in handling claims, including but not limited to: generate bed days and entering service charges, handle claim denial issues with insurance carriers, maintain accuracy in patient data and balances, and respond to patient and internal staff communication relating to claims and billing. Assist in revenue cycle management and month-end closing process Manage claim appeals and resubmissions, and resolve unpaid claims with insurance companies Handle client inquiries regarding claims and billing Manage and send out collection Assist with medical record reviews and facility/provider credentialing Provide Admissions support as needed. Provide Front Desk support as needed Other duties as assigned Full-time position!!!
