Summary:
The Account Maintenance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of member account information at Tropical Financial Credit Union. This position is responsible for reviewing and closing inactive accounts, performing outbound calls to verify member details prior to closing account, and maintaining thorough documentation of conversations and closing activity for compliance and audit purposes. The specialist will collaborate closely with the IT Department and other internal teams to identify data discrepancies, improve current workflows, and recommend enhancements to streamline data maintenance processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Review accounts with a $0.00 balance and no recent activity to determine eligibility for closure in accordance with credit union policies. Conduct outbound calls to members to verify and update account information prior to closing account. Process account closures and record detailed notes in the system for transparency and future reference. Maintain high standards of accuracy, data integrity, and confidentiality in all tasks performed. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure data consistency across systems. Meet established productivity targets related to account reviews. Proactively identify and escalate any data issues or irregularities to the appropriate teams. Analyze current data management processes and provide recommendations for operational improvements and increased efficiency. Support auditing and compliance initiatives through accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
Compliance:
BSA Compliance – every employee is required to uphold the credit union’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific functions within TFCU will take into consideration the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department. In addition to any other assigned training courses, online BSA and OFAC courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and/or Compliance Departments. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending and Credit Card Act. Comply with all TFCU policies and procedures to ensure compliance with such regulations. Performs other duties as required with or without accommodation.

Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision at times. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or general education equivalent A minimum of 1 year of experience in member service, data entry, or administrative support. Intermediate knowledge of computers (MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
