  • Physician Liaison The Physician Liaison
  • Cancer Institute plays a vital role in facilitating the growth of oncology referrals and strengthening long-term relationships with community and staff physicians specializing in cancer care.

As part of the marketing and outreach team, this role focuses on promoting all oncology-related services—both inpatient and outpatient—offered through the Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System. The liaison serves as a key ambassador for SMHCS’s cancer programs, engaging with referring providers, oncology practices, and community partners to increase awareness of SMHCS’s comprehensive cancer care capabilities, including medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, clinical trials, and supportive care services. In addition to driving referral growth, the liaison is responsible for identifying system-level opportunities to improve access, navigation, and service for referring oncology providers and their patients. This includes delivering tools and resources that simplify the referral process and ensuring physicians have timely, coordinated access to our oncology team. Required Qualifications

  • Require a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a business or healthcare environment.
  • Require a Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare related field. Sales experience may substitute on a year for year basis for required degree. Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer previous experience in the sales of healthcare services.
  • Prefer demonstrated people, customer service, communication and presentation skills.
  • Prefer demonstrated computer management skills.
  • Prefer the ability to demonstrate integrity and high ethical standards.
  • Prefer the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Prefer demonstrated ability to make decisions quickly and objectively.
