Accounts Specialist III, Bursar’s Office Miami Dade College – 4.2 Miami, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $18.50 – $22.94 an hour 15 hours ago Qualifications Writing skills ERP systems Mid-level Cash register Accounting Organizational skills 4 years Full Job Description This position performs advanced accounting and clerical work involving computer data entry using the College’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system Duties & Responsibilities Verifies and prepares deposits of P/T staff for armored truck pick-up Utilizes on-line computer terminal to process registration fees/obligations and respond to student inquiries Processes third party and/or agency payments Reimburses employees for college related purchases and travel for less than $100 Reconciles journal entries Provides guidance to part time accounting clerks and student assistants Prepares disbursement requests to replenish the petty cash fund Reviews Perkins Loan Promissory Notes and maintains accountability to ensure that Promissory Notes meet federal regulations Answers student questions regarding the MDC OneCard Serves as the students’ main contact to change their address in Higher One’s computer system and assists with ordering replacement cards Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements Two (2) years of college or major course work in accounting and four (4) years of cashier or related experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and the ability to apply this knowledge to work situations Knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations concerning financial record keeping. Ability to prepare complete and accurate accounting statements Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data Ability to supervise employees Ability to express one’s self clearly orally and in writing Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees or organization Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
