This Patient Account Representative/Medical Billing Specialist takes incoming and outgoing calls to patients and insurance companies to resolve account balances.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Complete all business-related requests and correspondence from patients and insurance companies. Assist clients and patients in all requested tasks. Is responsible for medical billing/collecting payments, and Financial requirements for patients Communicate to management areas of concern or areas of improvement. Performs various collection actions, including reporting delinquent accounts to the collection agency. Contact patients as the situation requires, resolve any issues, and collect balances when appropriate. Ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns, or problems with a focus on first-call resolution. Facilitate resolution by referring the matter to the issue/content expert. Post payments and prepare daily deposits. Research and respond to all patient inquiries/medical billing questions received by telephone and mail. Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments. Try to resolve account balances to zero before accounts are forwarded to an outside agency for collection. Maintains the strictest confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines Other duties as assigned. POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Full-Time Monday

• Friday 8 am
• 5 pm Hybrid remote schedule after training

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• This position requires a High School Degree or equivalent. Experience
• 1 year of medical provider experience. Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite. Communication
• Excellent oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively. Bilingual is not required, but preferred. Work Style
• Must work well independently but ask for help when needed, analyze and interpret information, and interact and decipher information telephonically and electronically.
