Position Summary:
In accordance with Pinnacle’s Company Values of Customer Focus, Team Player, Positive Attitude, Accountable/Dependable, Do the Right Thing, this position is responsible for overseeing strategic relationships with National Accounts and driving revenue growth, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and executing collaborative strategies that align with customers’ retail objectives and our company’s growth goals. Commitment to be deeply connected with national accounts to understand their business model and processes intimately and effectively lead cross-functional initiatives to deliver mutual value. Primary Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact and strategic partner for all sales and business development initiatives with assigned National and Regional Retail Accounts. Develop and execute a comprehensive account strategy that supports long-term growth and aligns with retailers’ merchandising and operational goals. Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within retailer accounts, including buyers, planners, category managers, and senior leadership. Navigate national accounts internal processes and systems effectively to accelerate decision-making, streamline execution, and troubleshoot challenges. Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., marketing, operations, finance, supply chain) to ensure alignment and successful execution of outlined account strategies. Drive P&L accountability, develop forecasts, analyze performance, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Identify and capitalize on new product opportunities, seasonal programs, and promotional events to expand assortment and increase velocity. Monitor competitive landscape and market trends to inform strategic planning. Deliver compelling, insight-driven presentations and quarterly business reviews to both internal leadership and at national retailers. Requires up to 20% travel Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred. 7+ years of national account management experience, ideally with a major retailer Demonstrated success managing complex accounts and delivering sustained revenue growth. Deep understanding of retail business structure, merchandising process, and operational workflows. Proven ability to build influential relationships and navigate cross-functional teams within a matrixed environment. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in forecasting, data analysis, and strategic planning. Self-starter with a high level of accountability and integrity. Valid driver’s license required Prefer experience in retail, industrial, agricultural products, pet care, hardware, or lifestyle/outdoor consumer goods. Familiarity with retailer portals, EDI, retail analytics tools, and vendor compliance protocols is a plus.
