Centerville, MA 02632 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts, ensuring excellent service, client retention, and tailored insurance solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of commercial coverages, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a proactive, client-first mindset. You’ll play a key role in supporting the agency’s growth while delivering a high level of service to new and existing business clients. Additionally, you will be responsible for training and mentoring our newly hired Commercial Lines Account Executive, who is transitioning into the insurance industry with no prior experience. This includes guiding them through coverage fundamentals, agency workflows, client communication best practices, and systems training. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys both hands-on account work and team leadership. Duties Manage and maintain strong relationships with existing commercial insurance clients, ensuring their coverage needs are met and expectations consistently exceeded. Conduct thorough assessments of client exposures to develop and recommend tailored insurance solutions across various lines of business. Negotiate policy terms, premiums, and endorsements with underwriters to secure the most competitive and comprehensive coverage for clients. Collaborate with producers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery, account renewals, and claims support. Train, mentor, and oversee the onboarding of our newly hired Commercial Lines Account Executive, who has no prior insurance experience. This includes coverage education, workflow training, system navigation, and client service standards. Prepare renewal summaries, proposals, and coverage comparisons to support account retention and upselling opportunities. Issue certificates of insurance, process endorsements, review audits, and handle other servicing requests accurately and efficiently. Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of client interactions, policy changes, and service activities in Hawksoft (our agency management system). Stay current on insurance industry trends, market shifts, and carrier appetites to advise clients proactively and competitively. Assist with internal process improvements, documentation, and standardization of account management procedures. Qualifications P&C License required Proven experience in insurance sales or account management, particularly in commercial lines. Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to analyze market trends and identify opportunities for growth. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously. A proactive approach to problem-solving and client engagement.
