Salesperson – Key Accounts The Lobster Trap Bourne, MA 02532 Company Description Established in 1972, the Lobster Trap Co has long been a leader in the seafood distribution industry, with a heavy focus on live lobster. We are the trusted supplier to many of the most widely known brands in the country and throughout the world. Our Company headquarters and primary distribution facility is located in Bourne MA, with several pier, tank house, and pounding facilities located in downeast Maine.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Key Accounts Salesperson to manage and grow our portfolio of strategic clients. This role is critical in maintaining long-term relationships with high-value customers and identifying opportunities to expand business with key partners in the seafood distribution industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned key accounts, ensuring excellent service and customer satisfaction. Develop deep understanding of clients’ business models and product needs to recommend customized seafood solutions. Enter orders into ERP System, monitor order fulfillment, delivery, and product quality; troubleshoot issues promptly. Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to ensure inventory aligns with client demand. Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and help gain new customers. Conduct regular sales calls, in-person meetings, and business reviews with key accounts. Track sales performance, generate forecasts, and report on key metrics. Stay current on seafood industry trends, pricing, seasonality, and competitive offerings. Participate in trade shows, tastings, and industry events as a representative of The Lobster Trap Co.
Qualifications:
3+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the seafood, foodservice, or perishable goods sector. Proven success managing key accounts and achieving sales growth. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal, and logistics-driven environment. Working knowledge of seafood products and industry terminology is a strong plus. Proficient in ERP systems, CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting tools. Willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed.
Work Environment:
Office and warehouse setting with exposure to cold storage environments. Fast-paced, deadline-driven, and physically demanding at times (lifting up to 50 lbs). Occasional travel to company sites, trade shows, and client sites.
