- Weekly pay schedule About the Position The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing the accounts receivable function while supporting broader accounting operations.
This role ensures accurate invoicing, timely collections, assisting with cash application receipts, and effective customer account management. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for supervising staff, contributing to general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of balancing AR responsibilities with broader accounting tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support accounting staff, including training, performance reviews, and workflow management.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts to maintain a healthy cash flow.
- Resolve customer billing issues and disputes professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of payments and adjustments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Support general ledger maintenance and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Maintain Accounts Receivable sub-ledger and ensure timely reconciliation with general ledger.
- Apply cash receipts to the correct account by engaging with the customer and sales department.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports related to receivables and revenue.
- Assist with month-end / year-end reporting of financial results to investment team.
- Collaborate with AP, payroll, and other accounting functions to ensure cohesive financial operations. Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AR best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an industrial office environment with exposure to noise and dust.
- Requires sitting, typing, and computer work for extended periods.
