Role:
Piedmont Metals is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Customer Account Administrator to serve as a key support role between our customers and internal teams. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys managing the details—processing orders, maintaining account records, and ensuring exceptional service from quote to delivery. You’ll be the go-to person for tracking customer orders, entering data into our ERP system, and coordinating with purchasing, production, and logistics to make sure everything flows smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer & Account Support Manage incoming calls and emails regarding customer orders, quotes, and general inquiries Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records in the ERP system Provide order confirmations, updates, and delivery timelines to customers Schedule occasional face-to-face meetings or customer visits when required Order Processing & Fulfillment Accurately enter sales orders and purchase orders into ERP system with minimal oversight Monitor order progress and proactively communicate with customers and internal teams Coordinate inventory availability, material delivery, and any additional services required Ensure timely invoicing and handle billing discrepancies Cross-Functional Communication Serve as the communication bridge between sales, operations, purchasing, and logistics Provide regular updates and reports to management on account activity and order status Assist in developing and maintaining account-specific tracking tools Uphold confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in sales administration, order management, or customer service Familiarity with ERP systems (order processing, inventory, or CRM modules) Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail Comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) Understanding of the steel or manufacturing industry is a plus
