Account Manager –
Outside Sales, Western NY Confidential Alfred, NY Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Account Manager to oversee and manage a designated territory. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to drive customer satisfaction and revenue growth. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure that the needs of your clients are met and exceeded, while also contributing to the overall success of the industrial distribution company.
Key Responsibilities:
Territory Management:
Manage and grow a defined territory, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships with key clients.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts.
Customer Relationships:
Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers within client organizations to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
Client Onboarding & Retention:
Lead onboarding efforts for new clients and ensure the successful execution of all contracts and projects, while working to retain and upsell existing accounts.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and operations teams to develop customized solutions for clients and ensure seamless service delivery.
Market Intelligence:
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes within your territory, and provide insights to senior management.
Reporting & Analytics:
Track and report on sales performance, client satisfaction, and territory-specific metrics using CRM systems and other tools to ensure targets are met.
Problem Solving & Support:
Address and resolve any customer issues or concerns promptly, ensuring a high level of service quality and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Account Manager, Territory Sales Manager, or similar role. Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of achieving targets and driving business growth. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams. Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively. Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required). Full-time Pay:
$60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
