Patient Accounts Representative Dr. Jill Strominger DC Woodbury, NY 11797 Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing and coding for medical services provided to patients. This position requires a strong understanding of medical billing processes, familiarity with healthcare systems, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment. The will be responsible for managing patient accounts, verifying insurance information, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Process and submit medical claims using various billing software systems, including Chirotouch Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before submission. Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits to ensure proper billing. Handle phone inquiries regarding billing questions from patients and insurance companies. Maintain organized records of all billing transactions and correspondence. Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in billing or coding. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, including coding standards. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all aspects of patient information handling. Experience Previous experience as a or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and coding practices Experience using phone systems for effective communication with patients and insurance providers. Knowledge of insurance verification processes is essential. Previous experience working in a chiropractic clinic setting is a plus but not required. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are necessary for success in this role. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
