TITLE:
Accountability Specialist
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Incumbent is responsible for developing, enhancing and implementing data and standards-driven educational reform by coordinating accountability and assessment activities to ensure that all students will reach high standards.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the supervision of a manager with wide latitude to exercise independent judgement. Work is subject to review on a periodic basis or upon completion for results achieved and for adherence to professional standards of conduct.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinates the development and implementation of school and district accountability models/approaches for elementary and secondary schools, including design, research analyses and reporting of results, and assistance in interpretation and use of assessment data, so that state accountability data is incorporated into overall school improvement
Conducts aggregated data analyses that supports schools’ and districts’ use of state accountability assessment data effectively and efficiently in support of school and district strategic plans focused on student performance and schools identified for improvements.
Builds the capacity of schools and districts in adopting a data-driven approach to strategic planning, resource allocation and continuous improvement practices which integrates multiple data sources and professional development so that the performance of all students improves.
Prepares the written technical bulletins, guidance documents, briefs, presentations and reports for varied audiences using assessment and accountability data
Conducts workshops, presentations on data analysis, accountability and other relevant topics as the need arises.
Participates on work teams, committee and task forces as appropriate.
Represents the Department and/or supervisors, as assigned, at meetings, conferences or public gatherings.
Provides timely, accurate data and reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Performs related work as assigned.
