Although each day can differ from the next, on most days, the Account Manager can expect to work closely with team members, customers, vendors, and other third parties to (efficiently and effectively) process: sales orders for customers, purchase orders to vendors, inventory transfers between locations, returns and credits, and billing for completed orders. Account Managers will also be charged with organizing data, communication, and instruction to: manage time, tasks, and responsibilities, monitor and analyze inventory usage for purchasing and warehousing, evaluate freight and shipping options for inbound and outbound movements, perform general administrative tasks like filing, copying, word processing, faxing, and emailing, and assist other team members and management with daily functions and special projects as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Account Manager will be responsible for: Performing Tasks in Order Lifecycle Obtaining order details from customer or salesperson Entering customer orders into system Ordering inventory from vendors Receiving inventory into system when delivered to distribution centers Processing inventory transfers between distribution centers Working with warehouse and logistics to ensure a safe and timely delivery of product Communicating with all pertinent team members and third parties to ensure successful completion of order Performing necessary daily billing activities Performing necessary steps to process returns, claims, and credits Supporting Organization’s Sales Process Communicating with customers using email, telephone, and in person Ensuring sales team’s needs are clearly visible, assigned, and managed Communicating with vendors, procuring samples, and ordering inventory to maintain adequate supply to meet customer demand Researching and identifying source, product, and pricing Keeping sales team well informed of all activity that impacts their customers Supporting Organization’s Operational Processes Monitoring, preparing, and performing ongoing communications to prioritize and manage tasks Responding to requests from other departments, divisions, and the corporate office Working with operations, sales, and corporate functions to resolve customer or supplier issues Analyzing and monitoring activity to ensure inventory levels are maintained effectively and timely Examining defective, returned, held, or damaged inventory in warehouse to ensure accurate resolution Working with vendors, suppliers, and third-party carriers to obtain the best quality products at optimum pricing Ensure customer and supplier information is up to date in the system. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education 4
- or 2-year Degree preferred but not required if sufficiently experienced Experience 2+ years of verifiable experience in customer service, sales support, or procurement preferred Packaging, distribution, or manufacturing industry experience beneficial and preferred but not required Technology Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, OneDrive, Outlook, etc.
) Possess a working understanding of task management tools and applications (Microsoft Teams, Planner, etc.) Be able to navigate web-based applications and reporting tools with ease and efficacy Communication Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
