The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient accounts, and will be responsible for managing payments, both electronically and manually. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments. Responsibilities (not all inclusive): Posting payments both electronically and manually, maintaining accurate medical billing records, and documenting revenue from patient payments and insurance reimbursements. Log on to bank site and pull the daily eft bank deposit transactions and reconcile with the ERA transactions for the day. Log on to bank site and work Lockbox payments from patients and insurances, as well as gather correspondence to send to the proper personnel and departments. Balance Lockbox and report on end of day spreadsheet. Post ERA transactions in ECW from the Clearinghouse. Sort and post check and credit card payments by insurance companies. Create claims for IMEs and Depositions, and post payments after claim creation. Sort correspondence and distribute to appropriate staff members. Sort medical record request, create claims and post payments as needed. Must be able to verify the accuracy of information between the EOB and the billing system. Properly posting rejection codes, adjustments, and payments per the EOB for proper denial tracking and analysis. Work through each claim assigning the proper personnel with each division, at the same time, correcting denials with demographics, eligibility issues and 25 modifiers for e/m codes with procedures. Scanning all documents to the proper division. Assign denied claims and zero remits to denials representatives. Verifying all payments taken from front desks have the correct information (authorization numbers, patients accounts, etc.), as well as have been posted to the CPT level. Locate misapplied payments and adjust reconcile accounts. Qualifications Experience in medical billing payment posting is highly desirable. Proficiency in accounts payable processes and account analysis techniques. Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-10 coding is a plus. Strong phone etiquette skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. Experience using medical billing software is an advantage. Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
