Development & Marketing Coordinator Position Summary:

Based in Bessemer, the Development Marketing Coordinator role is ideal for a friendly, energetic self-starter who loves connecting with people, is excited about crafting engaging content, and wants to make a difference in the nonprofit sector. The Development Marketing Coordinator supports our fundraising and communications team through a mix of donor engagement, content creation, event support, and digital outreach. You’ll gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development, marketing, and relationship-building, while playing a key part in telling our story and growing support for our mission. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is eager to learn and grow.

Responsibility Description:

Create and schedule fun, engaging content for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Monitor comments, messages, and mentions to keep our community connected and informed. Use Canva or other design tools to make graphics and promotional materials. Aid with storytelling and capturing photos or videos at events and programs. Stay updated on social media trends to optimize digital marketing efforts. Facilitate the distribution of email newsletters and campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp. Maintain clean, organized email lists and help sync data between Mailchimp and our donor database CRM. Test and track various KPIs set forth by various Foundry departments. Keep donor and prospect records organized and updated in our donor database. Self-starting, self-directing, and able to connect in a meaningful way with donors and prospective donors. Acknowledge donors by sending thank-you notes, cards, and other personalized communications. Coordinate special events, including setup, guest tracking, and volunteer support. Able to speak on behalf of The Foundry Ministries. Education & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required—relevant coursework, internships, or volunteer work is a plus. Skilled in both verbal and written communication. Outgoing personality—enjoys connecting with people and working as a team. Organized, detail-oriented, and willing to go above and beyond to carry out our mission. Positive attitude, creativity, and eagerness to develop professionally.

Technical Skills :

Proficient in Microsoft Office, MAC, and Google applications Experienced in using multimedia devices for presentations Intermediate knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Willingness to learn donor databases, email tools like Mailchimp, and event coordination.

Requirements:

Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends. Must be able to meet The Foundry’s requirements for insurability. Must be able to travel to meetings and community functions.
