ABOUT THE POSITION

Tampa Bay Sun FC is seeking an experienced Digital Marketing Coordinator to lead our digital marketing strategies, aiming to boost brand awareness, increase fan engagement, and drive ticketing and sponsorship sales. The ideal candidate will be passionate about marketing, design, and social media; and will use these skills to drive revenue growth and foster fan affinity through creative digital campaigns. Responsibilities include capturing content at games, community events, and the training facility. Additionally, managing social media accounts, updating Club email campaigns and analyzing data across various channels to create future strategies.

JOB SUMMARY

Digital Marketing Campaign Management
Maneuver digital marketing campaigns through all areas of the project life cycle.
Implement digital marketing strategies that align with client needs.
Brainstorm and create innovative content marketing strategies to increase engagement and brand awareness for Tampa Use web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Web Trends) to measure and track campaign performance.
Provide actionable insights based on campaign findings to improve results and achieve marketing goals.
Stay current with online marketing trends and continuously update strategies.
Content Creation and Strategy
Prepare online newsletters and promotional emails, organizing their distribution across various channels.
Create visual content that aligns with the marketing strategy and ensures consistency in brand messaging.
Collaborate with the creative team to produce content such as memes, real-time coverage, or other creative assets for digital and social platforms.
Serve as the main point of contact for USL social media teams, staying current on available social opportunities and new technologies.
Oversee copywriting and tone consistency across all social media platforms.
Shoot and produce short video content for digital, social, and editorial distribution.
Social Media and Community Engagement
Lead publishing on Tampa Bay Sun FC’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, YouTube, Maintain the brand’s tone and voice across all social media channels.
Monitor and engage with social media conversations related to the Tampa Bay Sun FC, USL, and soccer in general, building connections with fans and evaluating sentiment.
Respond to direct messages on social media accounts.
Perform an “always-on” approach to social media, staying engaged with current content trends, influencers, and relevant events.
Compile, analyze, and distribute social media analytics reports, making recommendations for improvement based on insights.
Collaboration and Cross-Department Work
Work with the Program & Marketing Director, Tampa Bay Sun Foundation, and the Marketing Department to ensure consistent messaging across platforms, including YouTube, TikTok, and GIPHY.
Collaborate with sponsorship and content teams to create impactful campaigns for internal stakeholders and partners.
Build and maintain a social media publishing calendar.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., ticketing, merchandising, events) to schedule promotional and marketing content.
Collaborate with USL on game-day communication strategies.
Maintain partnerships with media agencies and vendors.
Fan Engagement and Monetization
Identify opportunities for incremental fan engagement and/or monetization based on site analytics and best practices.
Keep track of fan sentiment and feedback through social media interactions.
Create strategies to boost fan engagement during games, practices, and events, ensuring content resonates with the target audience.
Other Duties
Cover games, practices, events, and day-to-day activities on social media (nights, weekends, and travel may be required).
Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or relevant field.
Minimum 3 years of experience with digital, social media, data, copywriting, and/or strategy as a core responsibility, analytics is required.
Prior experience in sports, live events, and/or entertainment industry is necessary
Strong knowledge and understanding of key social media platforms and best practices including, but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat.
Knowledge of Photoshop + Premiere.
Prior CMS experience is a plus.
Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with both internal and external clients.
An eye for content and stories, in selecting photos, identifying stories and moments, and amplifying content Proficiency in Adobe products to augment in-house content team (example projects include manipulating templates, adding branding to Instagram Stories, clipping press conference clips) Experience with social media, Google Ads (SEM), Meta Paid Social, and email campaigns
SEO/SEM
Excellent understanding of digital marketing concepts and best practices Extensive knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, NetInsight, WebTrends etc.)
Skills and experience in creative content writing
Analytical mindset and critical thinking
Knowledge of JavaScript, SQL, and HTML is a plus
Google Analytics certified preferred

Must be able to pass all background and safeguarding checks.
Must possess strong communication skills and be able to work in a dynamic professional environment.
Strong teamwork and collaborative skills, in brainstorming and execution Ability to complete tasks accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner, while remaining flexible to changing and new priorities and needs.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, as required.
Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time.

Understanding of and passion for soccer and sports marketing.
