Job Description

Event Organizer 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Oviedo, FL 32765

  • Hybrid work Goblin Market, Orlando’s first and only discount art mart, is looking to better service our community of goblins with ticketed workshops & classes!

We need a competent self starter who can work well with our artists to negotiate terms and coordinate details of events, fit into our team and communicate with other department leads to ensure the merch, advertisement, and ticketing all goes well, and with our diverse community members to identify what they need and the price point that’s reasonable for them! >:^)

    Orlando, we move around town to different venues as needed

Wok Location:

Hybrid, we work through Discord and can meet in person as needed. Attendance to the workshop events will be based on the venue.

Responsibilities:

Create a plan and pitch to the director ideas, concepts, and venues for workshops and classes Maintain professional and friendly relations with vendors and artists, identifying those who would be a best fit for hosting a class Create a timeline and execute it, with little to no oversight from other staff, to ensure all venues, payments, advertisement, ticketing, etc is created, maintainer, and distributed in a timely manner Write, without use of AI, professional emails to venues, artists, food trucks, and other stakeholders to ensure good communication and relations in regards to events Communicate and work well with our team of staffers in other departments so that marketing, contracts, payments, art, and other needed details are executed in a timely manner, to the best of everyone’s ability Present a friendly persona and keep good relations with guests, artists, volunteers, and other stakeholders through event reminder emails, recruitment, surveys, and more

Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal, relationship and organizational skills Self-discipline to work alone when needed. Works well under pressure Quick thinker and fast learner Excellent verbal and written communication skills Enjoys listening and learning Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability Confident interacting with people at all ages, backgrounds, interests, and values Experience with event and volunteer planning and organizing is a plus! Experience with art is a plus! Experience with teaching is a plus!

Compensation:

$16 per hour, self tracked hours, as need, approx 20 hrs per month Ability to increase hours or move positions
