Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training. Learning Objectives Gain knowledge and understanding of: Working major events in the sports and entertainment industry Managing time efficiently in a fast-paced environment Delivering a great guest experience through problem-solving & idea-generation Overseeing and motivating a diverse employee workforce for all events
Project:
Point of contact for the Guest Services Department for a unique, specified project Manage all aspects of the project, including planning, implementation, and follow-up
Responsibilities Event Days:
Observe, learn from, and assist the Guest Services Department in the preparation and execution of all events Guest Services includes Admissions, ADA Carts, Guest Services Booths, Trams, Venue, and Wardrobe Assist with employee check-in and check-out, issuing employee uniforms and credentials Assist management in overseeing all event staff Other duties as assigned
Non-Event Days:
Attend pre-event planning meetings Assist with hiring events Assist with the processing of new hire paperwork Assist with employee training sessions Schedule event staff via the ABI Mastermind system Assist with recruiting volunteer groups Assist with coordinating volunteer schedules Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree or a recent graduate Must be friendly, enthusiastic, personable, and reliable Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Experience with Canva and Google Drive is preferred Must be able to pass a driver’s license check Must be able to pass a drug test Must be able to lift 25 pounds
Availability:
