The Assistive Technology Sales Representative is responsible for expanding the Community Services division’s book of business by leveraging in-depth knowledge of assistive technology (AT) products and services. This role involves identifying and cultivating prospects, building strong relationships, delivering presentations, and meeting defined sales goals. The representative plays a key part in growing the agency’s AT presence by securing both major and minor sales opportunities across the Gulf Coast territory. Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to: Sales and Business Development Proactively identify, cultivate, and solicit new business opportunities within the assistive technology market. Conduct a minimum of 12 in-person sales calls weekly, targeting eye care and blind rehabilitation professionals. Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales quotas and performance metrics. Present tailored sales proposals, handle objections, and close deals effectively. Follow up on all qualified leads within four business days. Product Knowledge and Demonstration Become an expert in assistive technology products, software, and Louisiana Association for the Blind (L.A.B.) core values. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AT trends, developments, and competitive offerings. Accurately demonstrate AT products to clients, including doctors, educators, rehab professionals, and Veterans Association representatives. Keep AT product samples in good condition for demonstration purposes. Lead Generation and Prospecting Conduct consistent cold calling, prospecting, and follow-ups to generate new client interest. Actively seek leads through multiple media sources and the Client Records Management (CRM) system. Prospect assigned Gulf Coast territory regularly to identify new sales opportunities. Monitor bidding platforms for potential opportunities. Client Relationship Management Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers and stakeholders. Utilize the CRM system to manage contacts and track sales activities. Partner with the LVRC Store Coordinator to organize and execute product demo days. Marketing and Strategic Collaboration Collaborate with the Marketing team to promote special sales and assist in marketing initiatives. Support in-service training, marketing campaigns, and practice management efforts to increase sales volume. Represent the agency at AT exhibitions, conferences, and product demonstrations. Administrative and Reporting Duties Complete daily sales call reports and maintain accurate agendas. Provide sales forecasts and budget reports to the Senior Director and Vice President as needed. Ensure sales funnel accuracy and pipeline alignment with revenue targets. Stay informed about AT news and industry developments. Vendor and Partner Relations Build and nurture relationships with existing vendors. Research and establish connections with alternative vendors to meet product and service delivery goals. Qualifications Education and Experience A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Five to seven years of business-to-business sales experience, ideally in a related industry or with innovative product sales. Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales goals. Skills and Competencies Proficient in the entire sales process, from prospecting to closing. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Travel and Physical Requirements Must be willing and able to travel frequently, including overnight trips. Valid driver’s license is required; must be able to drive up to 10 hours per day. Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and transport exhibit materials. Capable of standing for up to 8 hours at exhibit booths and performing physical setup/teardown.
