Reporting directly to the Head of School and serving as a member of the school’s leadership team, the Communications Coordinator plays a vital role in promoting the mission, programs, and community of CMS. Qualified candidates will bring a passion for storytelling, strong technical and creative skills, and a deep appreciation for Montessori education. Key Responsibilities Communications & Content Creation Plan, write, and distribute CMS’s weekly and monthly newsletters using tools such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact. Draft major announcements, Head of School messages, and updates to families and faculty. Collaborate with faculty and staff to source stories, class updates, and content. Marketing & Brand Management Design marketing collateral for print and digital use, including brochures, posters, signage, and advertisements. Maintain a digital asset library (logos, fonts, templates, photos). Partner with Admissions on marketing strategies to support enrollment goals. Social Media & Digital Presence Design and execute a strategic social media plan to showcase daily life at CMS and attract prospective families. Manage photography, video content, and storytelling efforts across platforms. Website & Parent Portal Maintain and regularly update the CMS website. Optimize content for SEO and user experience. Lead the storytelling strategy across social media (Instagram, Facebook, etc.), including regular posting, story features, and metrics review. Event Planning & Community Engagement Lead promotion of school-wide events, including Open Houses, community Support event logistics (signage, programs, materials) in collaboration with other departments. Collaboration & Leadership Act as a collaborative team member and thought partner across departments to advance the school’s mission. Bring creative, strategic thinking to all aspects of communications and engagement. Brand Identity & Storytelling Ensure consistency in visual identity and tone across all platforms and materials. Develop a cohesive visual language in partnership with external vendors, freelance designers, or internal teams when needed.
