We are an essential employer that manufactures bird seed and small animal food for customers around the world. We are searching for a Sales and Marketing Assistant to join our growing team. Summary The Sales and Marketing Assistant serves as inside support for the Sales and Marketing team and assists with achieving customer satisfaction, generating revenue, and meeting long-term goals in line with the company vision and values. Schedule 8 hour shift Monday-Friday 8:00am

  • Provide organizational support to the daily operations of the Sales & Marketing Teams.
  • Design, develop, distribute, and coordinate all promotional activity and presentations submitted by the Brown’s sales team.
  • Assist with product maintenance related to product changes or new product introduction to customers including updating and/or creating all product catalogs, customer presentations, sell sheets, Plan-O-Grams (POG), product & packaging samples, and customer sales portal product database with new information.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of customer trade shows, open houses, and events for the Sales & Marketing team. Work closely with Sales supporting Customer themed trade show events.
  • Lead project teams and manage Team video meetings, meeting notes, action plans, communication, and follow-ups.
  • Work in conjunction with Digital Marketing Specialist on all aspects of social media posts.
  • Remain current on companion pet and wild bird trade publication media to keep ahead in a rapidly changing environment. Review all relevant listings in trade journals, etc. to ensure they are thorough, accurate and contain the correct information.
  • Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors. Answer customer inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Create, write, and distribute press releases, articles, new product announcements, achievements, etc. that promote and maintain a consistent and positive image of Brown’s and submit to trade journals and any other appropriate venues. Develop and maintain an updated list of editors for trade journals.
  • Send graphic designer any artwork changes and assist with proofing as necessary.
  • Assist V.P. Sales & Marketing with Retail Media Network programs for select strategic customers.
  • Order FedEx shipping supplies and printer toner cartridges as needed. Monitor inventory to prevent these supplies from running out.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

  • The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate Degree in Marketing and graphic arts experience preferred. Computer Skills
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and In Design. Social Media skills are a plus. Language Skills
  • The ability to read, write and comprehend the English language. Must have the ability to follow directions, both verbal and written, and to apply this knowledge to complete work assignment. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels of the company. Project Management Skills

  • Previous work experience in the Pet Food or Consumer Product Goods (CPG) industry is preferred. Math Skills

  • While working this job, the employee is regularly exposed to noise levels typical of an office environment.

Additionally, the employee is occasionally exposed to the production environment where the environment can be hot and humid or cold, with exposure to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places, with fumes and airborne particles; and the noise level may be very loud. Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent copy editing/proof reading skills.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, creative, and flexible.
  • Professional presentation skills and graphic design ability. Web design software knowledge a plus.
  • Self-directed with ability to work independently with little supervision and work as part of a team.

Must have the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
