POSITION OVERVIEW

The Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in supporting and shaping the organization’s marketing, communications, and advertising efforts. Responsibilities include copywriting, managing digital and social media content, and handling marketing-related administrative tasks and project coordination. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment. They will bring creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing & Advertising Develop and coordinate copy for a wide range of digital platforms, including social media, website content, email campaigns, online advertising, and on-site signage. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, and aligned with ASC brand standards. Design and execute email marketing campaigns for ASC programs and events such as exhibit openings, public and school programming, special events, and planetarium shows. Monitor and analyze marketing performance through data collection, reporting, and research to inform strategic decisions. Manage and maintain the email database monthly through the organization’s ticketing and membership system. Submit and maintain Adventure Science Center events and activities on community calendars and external publications. Distribute ad campaigns to partners and manage communications with vendors to ensure timely and accurate submissions. Maintain and organize the department’s digital assets and design files. Social Media Management Assist in content creation and execution across all Adventure Science Center social media platforms. This includes writing captions, designing graphics, and capturing on-site photos and videos. Maintain a well-organized social media calendar that supports the broader marketing strategy and departmental objectives. Support community engagement and reputation management across platforms with the goal of enhancing guest experience, increasing attendance, and maintaining a responsive, data-informed social media presence. General Responsibilities Maintain and update a comprehensive calendar of marketing, advertising, public relations, digital media, and design projects. Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals and operations of the marketing team.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Experience:

Minimum of one to two (1 to 2) years of marketing & communications experience, including digital/social media management Knowledge and skills in Adobe Creative Cloud Familiarity with social media best practices, including X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube Knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to work after-hours events, including occasional weekends, Ability to learn fast and stay organized Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills Enthusiasm and appreciation for the value of museums and informal science education Ability to set priorities, manage simultaneous projects, and meet deadlines in a calm and efficient manner Driven to seek out and learn new skills, techniques, and tools Ability to foster and maintain cooperative, collaborative, and effective work relationships in a cross-functional team environment with management, staff, vendors, clients, members, and guests

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls and observance of fire regulations. Typically, walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items (up to 20 pounds unassisted), and 50lbs assisted are required. At times, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. Also, the employee must have manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity. Some repetitive motion is involved.
