Job Description:
The Director of Field Sales is responsible for increasing sales performance by leading the execution and refinements of integrated business plans across national accounts through coordination with Bonnie regional sales teams. The role will report directly into the VP of Field Sales & Operations and be responsible for season and promotional readiness, execution tracking, after action reviews, and continuous improvement efforts for sales execution. To be successful, this person must be able to facilitate effective collaboration with national account leaders, regional sales teams, supply chain and marketing teams.
Responsibilities:
Achieve an annual topline sales & profitability plan for Bonnie Plants.
Ensure that sales execution plans are clearly documented andmunicated through Bonnie organization by establishing and refiningmunication process for annual integrated sales plans.
Develop and refine sales execution tracking tools to ensure integrated sales plan execution including season readiness and retailer program/ promotional execution.
Directly manage team of Division Sales Managers.
Develop team capabilities and coach individuals to ensure success and team sustainability through training, succession planning, talent attraction and retention.
Hold team accountable to ensure all labor, health & safety, DOT and Agricultural regulations are followed, andpliance measurements are tracked andpliant with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
Manage sales after action reviews to determine success and ROI of sales activities for optimization in coordination with appropriate stake holders.
Develop and refine merchandising vehicles for different channels and seasons to maximize sales and profitability. Standardize merchandising vehicles to optimize operational and supply chain efficiencies.
Improve efficiency of merchandising assets by defining and tracking fixture needs at key retail accounts to maximize sales and sell through.
Standardize, document, and refine merchandising best practices by coordinating with regional sales teams and national account managers.
Identify risks for channel conflict and work with stake holders to maximize sales opportunities, while minimizing risk of channel conflicts
Monitor, document, andmunicatepetitive activity in the market including retail price points, promotional activity, and product introductions across all retailers.
Develop strong relationships with external industry partners
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or extensive work experience
Minimum of 5 years of business experience with 3 years of national account management or store service management experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Team leader – ability to develop and motivate a high-performing team, successfully coordinating people and resources.
Effective and timely verbal and non-verbalmunication a must
Expert level understanding of in store retail environment
Knowledge of merchandising execution best practices and tools leveraged to maximize execution.
Financial acumen to conduct ROI analysis of sales initiatives.
Project management
Must be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Expert level proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
Ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential.
Travel
25% daily and overnight travel may be expected. A valid driver’s license is required.
