Job Description Job Summary:

The Branch Manager/Business Development Officer is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the retail side of the branch, while also growing the deposit base of the branch through external calling efforts to achieve annual growth goals. They will also be responsible for origination and management of a consumer loan portfolio. Daily Branch Operations include oversight of the teller line, new accounts and customer service staff. The branch manager is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring that all bank policies and procedures are being followed.

Essential Functions:

Supervise all retail branch employees Approve teller transactions as needed based on bank policy, procedure and all Federal regulations Responsible for managing branch security procedures, including opening and closing the branch; On call (24 hours) from police (for branch security) Supervise preparation of branch reports; monthly audits and follow appropriate retention policies Effectively handle all customer inquiries and any complaints in a professional and respectful manner Supervise and mentor tellers and CSR’s, including daily coaching and training Responsible for opening all new accounts (checking, savings, CD/IRA) and handling all customer service requests, while actively gathering information to identify cross-selling opportunities Participate in setting branch annual growth goals and developing and implementing business development plan Proactively lead and coach retail staff to help grow and expand customer relationships through internal cross-selling opportunities Lead outbound calling efforts to manage and grow the deposit balances of the branch by acquiring new personal and business customers Represent the bank in local community and business development events Supervise branch activities for special promotions Supervise Safe Deposit Box entries as needed Assist with managing Branch Building maintenance as needed Conduct regular staff meetings, coach and train retail staff on all bank policy and procedures Assist with hiring and training of retail staff Assist with annual performance and salary reviews for retail staff Assist with coaching and development of retail branch staff and handling of any disciplinary actions, including termination Lead by example and help to create a positive, friendly work environment; being trustworthy, ethical and professional at all times Approve time off requests and manage vacation schedules to ensure adequate staffing Approve weekly timecards and manage overtime effectively Serve as a Teller when needed and assist with teller/ vault balancing as needed Originate and grow consumer loan portfolio for branch

Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred; GED/High School Diploma required 5+ years banking experience required, including new accounts and teller experience 2+ Management experience preferred Proven track record of internal & external business development experience and meeting growth goals Ability to operate a calculator, computer, and other office equipment accurately and quickly. Organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy required. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must use discretion, maintain confidentiality, and be honest.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or up to 25 pounds.
