Sales Manager – Wedding & Event Pursell Farms Sylacauga, AL 35151 The Wedding & Events Sales Manager is responsible for driving the sales process, from marketing and selling wedding packages to finalizing contracts and overseeing day-of coordination as liaison between wedding planner, bride and Pursell Farms. This role ensures each wedding exceeds client expectations. The Wedding Sales Manager will cultivate meaningful relationships with couples, guiding them from initial inquiry to event execution. The position also includes representing Pursell Farms at bridal shows and industry events, networking with vendors and planners to increase visibility and revenue. In collaboration with the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Wedding Sales Manager will identify target markets, follow up on leads, and maintain exceptional service throughout the process. Essential Job Functions Network actively with wedding planners, bridal consultants, and regional vendors to promote Pursell Farms and its amenities Engage potential clients through phone, email, and in-person consultations, maintaining timely, personalized follow-up Book weddings and related events to meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals Conduct site tours that clearly communicate the property’s unique features and offerings Draft, negotiate, and manage wedding contracts with precision and care Upsell food & beverage packages, accommodations, and ancillary services to maximize revenue Stay up-to-date on wedding trends and incorporate relevant insights into sales conversations Coordinate and host planning meetings, vendor appointments, and menu tastings Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships Anticipate client needs and consistently exceed expectations through thoughtful service Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to align wedding messaging across PR and marketing campaigns Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Pursell Farms’ services, venues, and guest amenities Partner with the Catering Manager to develop and finalize Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) Distribute BEOs to clients and internal departments in accordance with property timelines Ensure ongoing communication with banquet teams, service staff, and culinary teams to execute flawless events Support and mentor fellow Wedding Sales Managers as needed Perform additional responsibilities as required to ensure the continued success of the Weddings Team Ideal Candidate Qualifications Strong network of professional relationships in the wedding and event industry Proven success in exceeding wedding, banquet, or social event sales goals Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred 3+ years of experience in wedding or event sales within a full-service hotel, resort, or comparable venue Demonstrated success managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation through event execution Skills & Abilities Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a warm, confident presence Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Opera CMS, and CRM tools such as Delphi Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple timelines and clients simultaneously Ability to develop personalized, actionable sales plans for each client Calm under pressure, especially during peak seasons or event days Fluent in English (spoken and written) Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. occasionally Capable of walking the property and coordinating on-site logistics (approx. 60% of time) Standing required for extended periods during tours and events Primarily indoor work (90%) with occasional outdoor responsibilities (10%)
